Working group Prof. Wilhelm

In our working group we deal with organic materials based on chiral ionic liquids, chiral carbenes and carbon nanomaterials. These are of interest for sustainable applications. In particular, the topics of chiral ionic liquids and chiral carbenes for catalysis can be helpful for sustainable processes. On the one hand, the field of ionic liquids is part of the collective term "green chemistry", as these organic materials have no significant vapor pressure and can be easily recycled after a reaction. On the other hand, the development of new carbenes for catalysis is also associated with the term sustainability, as the focus here is on the development of atom-economic catalysis systems to avoid toxic waste. New heterogeneous catalysts are being developed in the field of carbon nanomaterials.
